Trike vs bus kills 3, injures 5 in Zambales




STA. CRUZ, ZAMBALES- Three, includng  two minors, died, while five others sustained multiple injuries in a road collision involving a motorcycle, tricycle and passenger bus Saturday evening this town.

Zambales Police Provincial Office director Senior Superintendent Felix Verbo Jr., identified the dead as a certain Tilyong Arbizo, driver of a tricycle known as Kulong-kulong with no plate number, Michelle Arbizo, 9, and Daniel Arbizo, 8, all of Barangay Mapalad, this town.

Still, under observation at the hospital are Justy Mendoza, driver of Honda TMX motorcylce (no plate number), of Barangay Tubo-Tubo South; and kins Belong Arbizo, 10; Mikoy Arbizo y Martinez, 4; Mika Arbizo y Martinez, 3; and one other girl not yet identified, all from Bgy. Mapalad, this town.

Based on initial investigation, Mendoza was travelling the national highway going north bound, follwed by the said kulong-kulong. Upon reaching Bgy. Lipay also thistown, Mendoza lostcontrol of his motorcycle and slid on the road. In his attempt to avoid over-running Mendoza, Tilyong swerved is kulong-kulong to the left but was hit but incoming passenger bus.

Tilyong and his two passengers were immediately brought to Ospital ng Sta. Cruz but were declared dead-on-arrival by attending physician Dr. Cresencio Liceralde. The driver of the Victory Liner voulntarily surrendered himself to responding police officers.
